The Returning Officer at Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is reminding voters in the Western Isles of the requirement for Voter ID at the next UK Parliamentary General Election. The following forms of Photo ID will be accepted:

  • Driving Licence (including Provisional Licence)
  • Blue Badge
  • Identity Card with Pass Mark

Any individual who does not have a valid form of ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate. A video guide on how to apply for the certificate is available on the Electoral Commission UK YouTube Channel.
