Voter ID Requirement
A UK Parliamentary general election will take on 4 July 2024, and you will need to show photo ID to vote in person.
There are various forms of photo ID you can use, including a:
- Passport
- Driving licence (including provisional)
- Older persons bus pass
- Disabled persons bus pass
- Physical identity card with a PASS mark (including Young Scot Card)
Other forms of photo ID will also be accepted. You can see the full list of accepted forms of photo IDs on the Electoral Commission’s website. You can still use some photo IDs even if they are out-of-date, as long as the photo still looks like you. You can get more information on the Electoral Commission’s voter ID webpage.
