Cllr Kenny Macleod, Convener of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has paid tribute to former Councillor, Allan F Macleod who passed away at St Brendan’s Hospital, Barra, on 9 March.
Cllr Kenny Macleod, said:
“Allan F MacLeod served on the Comhairle from 1994 to 1999 as a member for Castlebay. Mr Macleod was Vice-Chair of the Environmental Services Committee. Alan was active in a number of organisations locally, particularly Voluntary Action Barra and Vatersay. Our thoughts are with all those who knew Allan and particularly to his family, colleagues and friends.”
The Comhairle flag is flying at half-mast in Castlebay, and at the Balivanich and Stornoway Offices.
