Care at Home
The Home Care service is operational 365 days a year with staff working various shift patterns from early morning to late at night. The service is committed to provide flexible, responsive, and good quality care, which reflects individual need and preferences and also encourages service users to live as independently as possible in their own home as well as supporting carers in their caring role.
The service can be provided to anyone aged 18 years or over who has had an assessment of their needs completed and requires assistance with daily living within their home.

Day Services
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Day services are registered by the Care Inspectorate to provide a day care support service for adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and sensory impairments, Service users can attend Grianan Day Centre in Stornoway, Carloway Day centre and can attend Craigard Day centre in Benbecula. The service operates Monday to Friday in Grianan Day Centre, Monday to Thursday in Carloway Day Centre and Tuesday to Thursday in Craigard Day Centre, at the Liniclate Education Centre. Our services support users to engage with local amenities and services to support and develop life skills and wellbeing as well as providing a range of personalised activities.
The aim of the service includes:
- To actively involve people in their care.
- To work in partnership with other agencies and carers.
- To work in a holistic and consistent way, promoting appropriate communication and person-centered care.
