Museum nan Eilean at both Stornoway and Lionacleit will operate on trialled reduced opening hours during the low season.
This reduction in opening hours will allow for staff to focus on the rebuilding of systems following the cyber-attack on 7 November.
From January, Museum nan Eilean at Stornoway will be open from 1-4pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Special Exhibitions Gallery will have a new show in the New Year.
Museum nan Eilean at Lionacleit will be closed for the month of January but will then reopen in February with a new exhibition.
Museum nan Eilean opening times for February and March will be notified in January.
Archive visits and enquiries continue to be by appointment only and will be on a case-by-case basis. The archive service can be contacted by emailing archives@cne-siar.gov.uk.
The opening hours of the café at Lews Castle, operated by Together Travel, remain unchanged and the café can be accessed as usual via the main Castle entrance when the museum is closed.
Please visit the Outer Hebrides Heritage website for information about the collections and resources for schools and families.
