Trianaid Care Home

Address:  Carinish, North Uist, HS6 5EJ
Telephone:  01870 604988

Trianaid is based in Carinish in North Uist and offers 24 hour care and support to 12 older people with a range of complex care needs including dementia and physical and/or sensory needs.  It is also able to offer 1 bed for respite/short breaks.

As a registered care home trained staff are available to provide support to residents until end of life.  There is close multi-disciplinary working with our partners in NHS Western Isles, and personal care and nursing support is shaped around the needs of the resident.  Personal Care Plans are developed on admission to identify the specific needs and preferences of the individual and these are reviewed and updated.

Trianaid residents enjoy regular engagement and involvement from community groups and are supported to attend and participate in community events.  There are also regular resident/relatives of Trianaid meetings established and monthly newsletters from the care home keeps everyone informed of events and updates from the care home.

Residents can access a large sitting room and separate dining area as well as make use of the Taigh Ceilidh, a building adjacent to the care home which has a small kitchen enabling residents to be supported with home making activities or gather for larger group activities.  Trianaid has been linking in with Sacred Heart House care home in South Uist for special events and this enables residents and staff from both homes to come together.
