Gaelic Careers Event

Local employers gathered in the Nicolson Institute this month for a Gaelic Careers event organised by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Developing the Young Workforce Outer Hebrides.

The event, organised as part of Seachdain na GĂ idhlig, saw Secondary 1-3 pupils meet with employers and find out about opportunities to use Gaelic in their future careers.

The following employers attended the event: Historic Environment Scotland, MG Alba, Skills Development Scotland, UHI NWH, Acair, NHS Western Isles, Comunn Eachdraidh Nis, Anderson Macarthur, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Alzheimers Scotland.

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is committed to the recruitment and training of a Gaelic workforce and representatives from 7 Comhairle departments present on the day including Early Years, Western Isles Libraries, Multimedia Unit, Community Learning and Development, Teaching, Apprenticeships and Sgioba na Gaidhlig.
