Statement of Reasons
The reason for this temporary road closure is to cater for the Blessings of the Boats service and event at Castlebay Pier, Castlebay. The closure is in the interest of road safety for a community event that is expected to draw a large crowd of people gathering at Castlebay Pier and on the adjacent road. The section of road closed is:
- Pier Road – from the Post Office towards Castlebay pier and then in a north westerly direction to the junction with the main Castlebay road, a distance of 285m or thereby.
The temporary road closure is in the interests of road safety at the Blessing of the Boats at Castlebay Pier, Barra. Traffic will be held up at any junctions or accesses to the section of road affected by the closure.
