Final Notice
On 3rd October 2024 Comhairle nan Eilean Siar made the above Order in terms of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on Monday 7th October.
The effect of the Order which was advertised in the Stornoway Gazette, the West Highland Free Press and on the Comhairle’s website week beginning 4th December 2023, is to prohibit any person from driving or causing or permitting to be driven, any motor vehicles from Willowglen Road in an easterly
direction through Assaye Place. Access will be available for residents and vehicles servicing properties on Assaye Place.
The Order is intended to prevent Assaye Place being used as a through-road from Willowglen Road to Macaulay Road. Access will still be available in a westerly direction from Macaulay Rd through to Willowglen Road.
The Order will replace the previous Experimental Order which ran for 13 months.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from Friday 3rd October apply to the Court of Session for this purpose.
