Tasglann nan Eilean, the archive service of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, has embarked on a collaborative project with Glasgow University which will result in an important local archive collection being catalogued, preserved and made publicly accessible.

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is encouraging members of the public in Lewis and Harris, planning to kill livestock, to prioritise human welfare and the humane treatment of animals by using Stornoway Abattoir.

Cllr Paul Steele, Leader of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, has welcomed the award of £300,000 of funding to progress the Comhairle’s work on Public Service Reform.
