Information on Customer Services, Registration and Faire

We are committed to the consistent delivery of good customer service. We aim to make services digital by default which are available 24/7, whilst making sure those who do not use digital services can still contact us through traditional methods. 

Customer Services are a skilled, customer-focussed, multidisciplinary team based in our local offices across the islands working directly with customers. We are the first point of contact and take calls for all council services- 24/7, 365 days a year. We also deal with virtual contact, including enquiries, emails and online forms that customers submit via our website.

Registration

We are also the Registrars team for the Western Isles and Register all births, deaths, and marriages as well as celebrating weddings throughout the year.

Faire

The Faire Telecare Service sits within Customer Services and is a 24/7 service alarm response service offering immediate response in an emergency, providing reassurance for people needing extra support.

Faire officers can take overflow calls from Area offices when they are busy. Faire also operates as the out of hours contact point for local authority services and take out of hours enquiries from 5pm to 9am weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
