The swimming pool at Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais in Stornoway is temporarily closed until further notice as a result of damaged floor tiles.
A number of tiles became loose and were detached on Monday evening and the pool was closed immediately until an assessment could be made this morning. The tiles require replacing and as such the pool is now being partially drained to access the floor to undertake this work. We currently anticipate that the pool will remain closed for at least the remainder of this week, with the hope of being in a position to safely re-open to the public from early to middle of next week.
While the Pool and Jacuzzi are closed, the steam room and sauna will remain available as normal.
All pool activities such as swimming lessons, Aquafit classes and private bookings are cancelled for the remainder of this week and the admin team are currently contacting all affected bookings. The team will be in touch with parents regarding this week’s missed lessons and assessments as soon as a plan is in place.
