Blue Badge Scheme

The Blue Badge scheme operates throughout the UK and is administered by local authorities who process applications and issue badges.

The scheme is designed to enable people with severe mobility issues or who pose a risk to themselves or others in traffic to travel independently – as either a passenger or driver - by allowing them to park close to their destination.

The scheme gives concessions to badge holders when they park on-street. Badge holders may benefit from designated parking bays and other concessions when they park in off-street parking areas but this is not subject to the conditions of the scheme.
