Comhairle Sets Up Rest Centre for CalMac passengers at Lochmaddy Hall

Following the disruption to the MV Hebrides’ sailings yesterday afternoon, Thursday 21 July, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar set up a rest centre at Lochmaddy Hall to accommodate approximately 20 of the CalMac passengers who were stranded without accommodation after the evening sailing to Uig was cancelled.

The Comhairle wishes to place on record its thanks to the Coastguard, Scottish Ambulance Service, Police Scotland, and the Comhairle’s Social Work personnel, for their excellent support in ensuring those affected were provided with the necessary assistance.
