Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Accredited Skills and Training Team has today (12 April) moved to Stornoway Town Hall.
The historic building, first opened in 1905, will act as a base for the Comhairle’s Apprenticeship and Employability programs.
From Foundation Apprenticeships through to Graduate Apprenticeships the Comhairle currently offers support in 44 different areas through 21 different funds. Employers or young people who would like more information on how to get involved should email: email@example.com
CNES Leader Roddie Mackay, said: “Stornoway Town Hall has been central to the community of the Isle of Lewis since 1905. Many will remember it as the Town Council Headquarters, Public Library or Cinema but for today’s young people it will be a learning centre full of opportunity. The historic building will play an important role in shaping the future of the Western Isle’s Workforce.”
CNES Apprenticeship Manager Dolina Smith, said: “The Comhairle’s apprenticeship pathway offers a range of opportunities in a variety of sectors. We want to ensure that all young people in the Western Isles can achieve their goals while living, learning and earning in the islands. The Town Hall will serve as a central base for all our Apprenticeships and Employability Services and offer closer contact between apprentices, employers and training officers.”
