Bonus Payment Scam

Trading Standards have been alerted to a scam currently circulating on mainland Scotland, where NHS and social care workers are being contacted by either e-mail or by telephone, concerning the one off pro rated payment of £500, announced by the First Minister on the 30th of November.

Although we are not aware of any instances of the scam operating in the islands we are advising residents to be on their guard.

NHS Scotland have advised that all bonus payments will be made through the payroll system, and that no staff will be required to disclose personal or financial details.
