The Comhairle is again seeking expressions of interest from individuals, local community groups, businesses and partner agencies who are interested in obtaining unscreened surplus topsoil (minimum 1 tonne), arising from the Goathill development, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis and is currently stockpiled at our Bennadrove site. This soil can only be used for a specified range of uses and maximum depths with these being detailed in SEPA’s regulatory guidance. (»)
As per previous calls for these types of applications, all successful applicants are required to make their own arrangements for pick-up and delivery of this topsoil material and meet all associated haulage costs. Also, collection of the topsoil would need to take place on either a Friday or Saturday and successful applicants will be advised by staff at Bennadrove on availability of slots as soon as possible after payment has been made.
In order to register an interest, applicants should complete the application form (Opens in a new window or downloads a file) and a decision will be made as soon as possible thereafter whether their application has been successful or not or whether further information is required.
