Educational Psychology

The Psychological service is part of the Education and Children’s Services Department in the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, or Western Isles council. As such, the service operates within the wider aims of Comhairle Education Services to make a difference for children and young people.

Educational Psychologists promote child development and learning, mainly with children and young people from birth to 19 years, through the application of psychology.

The Comhairle has in place a staged process of assessment and intervention for children who require additional support, psychological advice and intervention which is provided as an integral part of that staged process.
