General Policy

CnES fully support WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) set out by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium)). These guidelines aim at ensuring websites are accessible by all users including those with disabilities. All CnES web content complies with or is in the process of being made compliant with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) ‘AA’ standard. Non-W3C formats (e.g.,Flash) or multimedia will only be used where they are the most appropriate format for the content in question.

Browser Support

This website aims to support all modern browsers.  For the best browsing experience we strongly recommend you use the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Safari. NB: Internet Explorer 10 or lower is not supported.

Changing Colours, Font, Text Size and Other Browser Settings

In order to maximise accessibility, most, if not all, modern browsers allow you to tailor your browsing experienceto by changing settings such as colours, font and text size.

The 'How To' guides available on the BBC’s Accessibility Pages (Opens in a new window or downloads a file) provide useful guidance on how to do this.

How access keys are invoked depends both on the operating system you are using and your particular browser, e.g.,

MS Windows / IE

  1. Hold the ALT key.
  2. Press the access key.
  3. Release both the ALT key and the access key and press return.

MS Windows / Firefox

  1. Hold the Shift and ALT key.
  2. Press the access key.

Macintosh

  1. Hold the CTRL key.
  2. Press the access key.
  3. Release both the CTRL key and the access key and press return.
