Note to Gardeners (Bumblebees)

Please be aware that Bumblebees advertised to improve pollination in your garden are of little value and could cause problems to our local bees.

The advertisements say “Native Bumblebees”, they are NOT native to the Outer Hebrides.

Unlike the mainland, our bees are doing quite well.

Far better to encourage the local bees with some bee friendly flowers.
