Community Council Elections 2023
Elections to each of the Community Councils in the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar local government area will be held on Tuesday 31 October 2023. To stand or vote in the election you must reside in the local area and be named on the electoral register. 16 and 17 year olds residing in the community council area and named on the electoral register are also entitled to stand for the community council and vote in any election.
Valid nominations must be received by Tuesday 3 October 2023 and elections will be held for any community council areas which have more than the required number of nominations.
Community Councils will be deemed to be established if 6 or more valid nominations are received. If more than 12 nominations are received for any community council area an election will be held.
