Census Deadline Approaching

Residents in the Western Isles are being urged to complete Census forms to provide vital information for the future of public services.

The return rate for the Western Isles is currently at 78.7%. Return rates for local authority areas across Scotland are available on the National Records of Scotland Website (Opens in a new window or downloads a file).  Aberdeenshire has the highest return rate at 82.2% whilst Glasgow is lowest at 65.5%.

With the census due to close on 1 May every household across Scotland is required to complete their return. Residents are reminded that failing to do so could result in prosecution and a fine of up to £1000.
