Temporary Free Parking to Support Local Businesses

CNES’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee is recommending free parking in Stornoway’s Perceval Square Car Park, limited to a maximum period of 2 hours, for the period from 18 December 2020 to 5 of January 2021 to help support businesses during the Festive period. 

A Comhairle spokesperson said: 

“CNES is committed to supporting local businesses all year round and we hope that this will make Christmas shopping locally easier. We would ask that drivers respect the intention of this initiative which is to support local business during the busy festive period by providing shoppers with a temporary free parking service. It is particularly important to support local businesses during this very challenging time.”

The recommendation will go to full Council for ratification next week.
