Stewards Required for Iolaire Event on 1st January 2019

With the Iolaire Commemoration events just weeks away, stewards are required for the Memorial Service on 1st January 2019, which is being held by The Scottish Commemoration Panel at the Iolaire Memorial, Holm at 12noon (subject to weather conditions).

There will be no vehicular access to the site at Holm, other than transportation by shuttle buses which will be arranged from the bus park at The Nicolson Institute. The last bus will depart from Stornoway 11:10am.

Chairman of the Working Group, Norman A MacDonald said: “The role of the steward is crucial to the smooth running of this important event and many are needed, from 9am until about 2pm on 1st January.

“With shuttle buses transporting people down to the event at Holm, which starts at midday, it is important that we have a healthy bank of enthusiastic and willing stewards. We would welcome anybody who has an interest to come forward and offer their services.”

If you are interested in being a steward please contact The Iolaire Working Group by phone on 01851 822615, through the Facebook page or by contacting Colin George Morrison (colin.morrison@cne-siar.gov.uk) or Peigi Ann Scott (p.scott@cne-siar.gov.uk) by 5pm on Friday 7th December 2018.
