The deadline for reserving a seat on the buses down to the Scottish Commemoration Panel’s Memorial Service on 1st January 2019 has been extended until 5pm on Friday 7th December 2018. Transportation by shuttle buses to the site will be the only way of getting to the service and will be arranged from The Nicolson Institute bus park.
The service (subject to weather conditions) will begin at 12noon, at the Iolaire Memorial, Holm. The service will be broadcast live on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal for those not in attendance.
To reserve a seat on the buses, the public must register over the phone by calling Customer Services on 01851 600 502 by 5pm on Friday 7th December 2018. No other reservations will be taken after the deadline.
The Holm road will be closed off and there will be no other vehicular or pedestrian access. The Coastguard Rescue Service will be monitoring all coastal paths. The restrictions will be lifted one hour after the service finishes to allow general access to the memorial site.
All tickets for the service on board the MV Loch Seaforth have been taken up.
