Fossil Hunters Exhibition at Museum nan Eilean
The opening of ‘Fossil Hunters’ touring exhibition from National Museums Scotland will open at Museum nan Eilean, Sgoil Lionacleit, Benbecula on Friday October 20th. It had been anticipated that the much acclaimed exhibition would open this week but, due to operational reasons, the opening date has been rescheduled until October.
"Fossil Hunters" provides a glimpse of life around 360 million years ago when Scotland lay south of the equator. It showcases fossils discovered in Scotland as recently as summer 2015, which were formed from animals believed to be amongst the first vertebrates to live on land.
As preparations for the exhibition get underway, the Museum at Sgoil Lionacleit will be closed until October 20th. Museum nan Eilean apologise for any inconvenience to visitors.
