OHCPP Welcomes Care Inspectorate Report

The Outer Hebrides Community Planning Partnership has welcomed a Care Inspectorate report which highlights good progress has been made on improving services for children and young people in the area.

The progress by partners is described by Inspectors as ‘significant’ in working together to gather and study information about improvements in the well-being of children and young people. This meant the partners were better able to plan and agree priorities.

There was also significant progress in developing a better understanding of the needs of children and young people to make sure the right services were in place.

Norman A. Macdonald, Chair of the OHCPP, said: "This is a very encouraging report and I am pleased that the Care Inspectorate has recognised the good work that has gone on in developing services for children and young people. Our challenge is to maintain that progress and continue to strengthen and improve services". 

The report also found that considerable progress had been made in addressing previous recommendations.
