Stop Go |
Ask an adult or brother/sister to shout out

Change your movement from slow to fast. |
Sharks |
Run around a large area with hoops/mats dotted around the area like small islands. Ask an adult or brother/sister to shout out ‘SHARKS’ and you have to jump onto one of the islands. |
Pretend to be a small fish moving slowly or big shark moving faster. |
Animals |
You run about a marked out area pretending to be an animal and every so often change to a different animal. |
Change from big animals to small animals pet animals to jungle animals. |
Traffic Lights |
Ask an adult or brother/sister to shout out commands (i.e. running on the spot)

Change your movement from slow to fast. |
Transport |
You run about a marked out area pretending to be a form of transport and every time you pass a marker you must change the form of transport. |
Change from transport one ground to transport in the air, from police car to Fire truck. |
Running, Jumping and Hopping

Hop Scotch |
Set out a track with double squares then single then repeat, number the squares 1-12. Straddle the double squares and hop on the single square. Run back to start once completed. |
This time throw a bean bag or sock which ever square it land on repeat the sequence to collect the item and follow the sequence back to start. |
Space |
Set out a track using markers/towels. Start at one end of the track and run and jump over the markers/towels (try not to touch them), then run back to start once completed |
Start off with distance between the markers/towels apart and to make difficult bring them closer. |
Cross the line |
Mark out a straight line using markers/plastic bottles about 10m apart try and run between the lines using different movements (ie slow or fast). |
Movement Forward, sideways, backward, high knee’s, heel flicks, big steps, on tip toes, hopping, jumping & bear crawling. |
Jumping on the spot |
You stand in the centre with a marker/towel in front, behind and on each side. Try not to touch the marker/towel and jump forward, sideways or backwards. |
Try doing this without stopping and in the same sequence ie Forward backward, side to side other side to side, back and forward to finish where you started. |
Jumping over |
Set out a track and try to jump sideways over with markers/towels/plastic bottles (on their side). Keep both feet together and see if you can reach then end of your track. |
Try and not to touch the markers or follow a sequence ie jump sideways over then over then back repeat until you reach end of your track. |
High low |
Set out a track setting different heights using flat line then towel then plastic bottle. Try double feet jumps over, then hopping over then stepping over. |
Try putting all jumps together ie hop, step and double feet jump. |
Rolling

Roll and run |
Get yourself something that can roll ie ball, sellotape or crunched up newspaper. Roll it around a safe area and run after it. |
Try and roll it and catch it before it stops. Must keep the ball on the floor. |
Roll and bounce |
Using a big ball see if you can roll it towards a wall. |
See if you can roll at a set target. See if you can get the ball to roll back to you off the wall. |
Fast and Slow |
Get yourself something that can roll ie ball, sellotape or crunched up newspaper. Roll it slowly or roll it fast. |
Set yourself a target distance and see if you can roll it slowly to reach the target or fast to hit the target . |
Roll Golf |
Spread different targets around your garden or an open space, get yourself something that can roll ie ball or crunched up newspaper. Roll the ball to see if you can hit the target. |
Set the targets out in the plan of a golf course and aim for 1 target at a time and see what score you achieve. |
Roller Gate |
Set out a target using 2 markers (like a football goal) roll the ball towards the goal and see how many goals you can score. |
Start off with large gate and progress to a small gate. |
Roll in 2’s |
Ask an adult or brother/sister to roll the ball against a wall with you. You must stop the ball before you roll it back, similar to playing a game of squash. |
Try and make the person you are playing to move about making it difficult to stop it before rolling back. |
Throw and Catch

Up and down |
Get yourself a scarf or beach ball something light gently throw it underarm up in the air and try and catch it before it hits the floor. |
Try using a tennis ball as this will be harder to catch. |
Drop and Catch |
Get yourself a beach ball or football, hold it in 2 hands and drop it from hip height and let it hit the floor before trying to catching it again in 2 hands. |
Go for a smaller ball and see if you can drop and catch on the move and from 1 hand to the other. |
Bounce and Catch |
Get yourself a football, hold it in 2 hands and bounce it of the floor before trying to catching it again in 2 hands. |
Move to using a smaller ball and repeat this time using 1 hand and catching with one hand. |
Clap and Catch |
Get yourself a beach ball something light gently throw it underarm up in the air and try and clap your hands before it hits the floor. |
Throw ball up in air, clap your hands and try and catch it before it hits the floor. |
Wall and Catch |
Get yourself a beach ball something light gently throw it underarm against a wall and try and catch it after 1 bounce before it hits the floor again. |
Set a target on the wall and see if you can hit the target and catch the ball before it hits the floor. |
Pairs |
Ask an adult or brother/sister to stand opposite you so that you can throw the ball underarm back and for to each other letting it hit the floor before you catch it. |
Repeat but this time try not to let it hit the floor. |
Kicking

Kick and run |
Get yourself a ball, or crunched up newspaper. kick it around a safe area and run after it. |
Try and kick it and catch it before it stops. Must keep the ball on the floor. |
Kick Squash |
Kick the ball against the wall keeping it on the floor. You must stop the ball before you kick it back off the wall, similar to playing a game of squash. |
Set a target against the wall and try to hit the target, the more targets you have the more things you can hit. |
Spot kick |
Stand in the middle of your garden or make sure you are in a space, kick the ball in any direction run and collect it, take it back to where you started an kick in a different direction. |
Set out some goals using markers or a couple of jumpers and see if you can kick the ball in the direction to score a goal. |
2’s |
Ask an adult or brother/sister to stand opposite you so that you can kick the ball on the floor back and for, stop it using your hands before kicking it back. |
Repeat but this time try not to stop the ball with your hands try and us your foot. |
