Activity Descriptions

Badminton Skills

Sessions encourage 8 to 11 year old children (11 year olds must be in Primary School) to develop their racket skills, using specific drills and fun games in a safe environment.  Participants bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Basketball/Football Skills

Sessions encourage aged 8 to 11 year old children (11 year olds must be in Primary School) to develop their team sport skills, using specific drills and small sided games in a fun safe environment.  Participants bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Basic Sports

Sessions introduce age 4 (must be going to schools in August 2022) and 5 year old children to basic sports, in a safe fun environment. Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Sessions encourage age 5 - 7 year old children to develop a range of basic skills to help both team and individual sports in a fun safe environment.  Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Community Activities

Cycling Introduction Festival

Sessions are open to aged 8 and  9 year old children who can cycle on flat surfaces, use your gears and brakes confidently, and want a basic introduction to off road cycling in the Castle grounds.  Must be able to cycle minimum 2 miles. Participants must bring suitable outdoor kit, and water.

Cycling Festival

Sessions are open to aged 10 and 11 year old children (11 year olds must be in Primary School) who are competent at using your gears and brakes on the up and downhill off road parts of the Lews Castle grounds.  Must be able to cycle minimum 2 miles.  Participants must bring suitable outdoor kit, and water.

Football/Badminton/Basketball Activities

Sessions encourage aged 6 & 7 year old Children to develop a range of different team and individual sports as well as sport specific skills in a fun safe environment.  Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water. 

Football/Badminton/Basketball Camp

Sessions encourage aged 8 to 11 year old Children (11 year olds must be in Primary School) to develop a range of different team and individual sports as well as sport specific skills, also learn about the rules of the sport in a fun safe environment.  Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Fun Football

Sessions introduce age 4 (must be going to schools in August 2022) and 5 year old children to the sport of Football, in a safe fun environment. Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Golf Skills

Sessions will introduce aged 8 to 10 year old children to the sport of golf, using specific skills (chipping and putting) and fun games in a safe environment.  Participants bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Introduction to Golf

Sessions will introduce aged 6 and 7 year old children to the sport of golf, using fun games in a safe environment.  Participants bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Mini Sports

Sessions introduce 3 - 4 year olds to basic co-ordination and movement skills used in all sport.  Please note that all 4 olds attending must not be going to school in August 2022.  Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Mini Kickers

Sessions introduce 3 - 4 year olds to basic co-ordination and movement skills used in the sport of football.  Please note that all 4 olds attending must not be going to school in August 2022.  Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Multi Sports

Sessions encourage age 6 and 7 year old children to develop a range of different team and individual sports in a fun safe environment.  Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Nerf Activities

Let your kids go wild with our Nerf activity obstacle courses!  These activities are aimed at children aged 8 - 11 (11 year olds must be in Primary School), your children can try out a range of target practice games and other fun activities using Nerf equipment. Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Sportshall Athletics

Target Sports

Sessions encourage age 4 (must be going to schools in August 2022) and 5 year old children to develop their aiming estimating skills, using the sports of clubgolf and boccia using drills and small sided games in a fun safe environment.  Participants bring suitable indoor kit, and water.

Water Confidence

These water confidence sessions are open to aged 4 year olds. The session will develop water confidence in a fun safe environment.

Outdoor Activities

Trail Cycling

Participants are asked to bring a serviceable mountain bike (there are a small number available please advise when booking if you need to borrow a bike and helmet)

Sailing and Kayaking Sessions

Stornoway Sailing (RYA stages) in partnership with CnAG, Participants please bring lunch and a complete change of clothing

Kayaking in partnership with CnAG, Participants please bring a complete change of clothing.

Sailing Taster Session
