Photography Competition
Entry deadline: extended until Thursday 30 June at 6pm
3 Categories: 5 - 11 years, 12 - 18 years and Adults
Themes: People, Landscape, Architecture, Community
We want you to capture all aspects of life in the Outer Hebrides the way YOU see it!
Prizes: top 30 photographs will be exhibited by Museum & Tasglann nan Eilean

Free at Last! Talk exploring the Disruption and its impact on social history (Museum nan Eilean – Stornoway)

A talk by Nigel Anderson from Edinburgh Theological Seminary discussing what was the Disruption and what was its impact on Scotland’s social history: Why did it happen and what were its consequences? Nigel will discuss this fascinating topic which then links to the second talk on Saturday 11 June.

The Very Life of It: Talk exploring how the Disruption links to photography

A talk by Blake Milteer, Photography Curator at National Galleries of Scotland exploring the Disruption and its impact on photography, with Scotland becoming a world pioneer in the development of photography. This talk links to another on Tuesday 7 June.

A family friendly workshop with artist Elaine Smith to create your own pre-photographic story illustrations to make a concertina perspex book inspired by glass slides on display in the exhibition.
