Purpose and Principle of Mini Motiv8
Mini Motiv8 has been developed for pupils on P1-P3 in order to increase their daily physical activity levels whilst developing key motor skills such as running, jumping, throwing, catching etc. However, the main principle of the club is for the pupils to have fun!
‘MiniMotiv8’ is a series of sessions based on imaginative play, designed to be delivered as an extra-curricular activity.
The Lesson Plans are designed to be very simple and require minimal equipment and preparation time, and are available on our Active Schools website (details below). If your school is interested in participating, please do not hesitate to contact your Active Schools Coordinator for further info or to make any appropriate arrangements.
The latest information is that children should accumulate at least one hour of moderate activity on most days of the week
Evidence suggests that physically active children are more likely to be active adults.
Active Schools can provide training / mentoring / lesson plans etc to auxiliary staff and interested parents who wish to deliver Mini Motiv8 whether at lunchtimes or after school – it is great fun and will play an important part in ensuring your children are active and healthy!
