This week Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is celebrating youth work in the Western Isles, as part of Youth Work Week 2024.
Youth Work Week is taking place between 4th – 10th November, it is a chance to share the opportunities available for young people locally and to celebrate the wonderful young people in our islands.
Community Learning & Development (CLD) in Barra will be celebrating Youth Work Week with an information stall on Thursday at Castlebay School at lunchtime, with freebies and a youth survey to help identify young people’s wants, needs & aspirations. All young people taking part will get free raffle ticket for prize draw.
On Thursday there will be a P7-S4 Drop In Event at Sir E Scott. Alongside CLD will be Comunn na Gàidhlig, Harris Forum Development Officer and Cllr Kenny Macleod – look out for lots of freebies and prizes!
Young people are warmly invited to the Stornoway Town Hall on Friday 8th November, 1:30pm – 3:30pm. Prizes, freebies and lots of information will be available. Alongside CLD will be Action for Children, Youth Local Action Group, Pointers Youth Café, The Shed, The Coop, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Duke Of Edinburgh’s Award, Young Scot, Who Cares? Scotland, Young Islanders Network, HIT Team and more. This event is open to young people 12-25 years old and their families.
